 Susan Baughman has an extensive background in public speaking, speech coaching & training, and storytelling. She has won numerous awards and contests in the public speaking arena, and helps others to do the same.
Susan has almost 25 years successful experience as a sales person for corporations ranging from BMW to AT&T to Honda. Susan was eventually hired by a large Wall Street firm as a Financial Advisor, and from there she moved to the Wealth Management group of one of Austin, Texas' largest locally owned accounting firms.Susan became a Stock Broker/Financial Advisor after two decades following the markets as a hobby (she tried to get a job in the early 80's in finance, and was turned away as a woman who would "take a good job away from a man who might need to support a family. Yes, this was the 80's.").
Susan bcame motivated to create and tour with her workshops as a result of hearing - just one too many times - from people that they were uneasy, apprehensive and just plain scared of their pending retirement. After comments from corporate attorneys, medical professionals, housewives, and small business owners, Susan soon realized that many people never had the opportunity to really LEARN about money - and that most of what they DID know was from trial-and-error, from quack t.v. advisors, and sadly, just plain wrong! Susan is determined to help correct that problem, one group at a time.

Susan's extensive financial experience in the brokerage and financial services industries, as well as years of competitive speaking, has molded her into an exceptionally knowledgeable, witty, dynamic and personable speaker. |
Susan is also a survivor of Domestic Violence, and a vocal survivor at that! She has discovered a way to combat the paralyzing effects of dealing with family violence, and using humour and elegance, wills herself to not just survive, but to use the experience to overcome other hurdles and to share those insights with others. $usan $peaks to groups about the impact of home violence on the workplace to bring awareness, hope and healing to the victims, as well as families, friends and co-workers of those adversely affected by someone's violent and abusive behavior.
Susan is in the process of writing a Survivor's Manual for people involved in violent situations.
