 I just got back from the Biggest Liar in Austin Contest, and boy were those contestants a bunch of liars!  And damn good ones, too!  From young women dressed like cowgirls telling about old cowgirls who rounded up stolen horses, to Texans who died their baby sheet in ‘bluing’ – “the biggest lamb dyer in Texas” – the best pun of the day from the winner of the event (puns are clearly ‘in’)!  to old men (elderly -excuse me!) pretending to be 'saved' there were some great yarns and tall tales told for all to see! 

It turns out Donna Ingham is the biggest liar in Austin - a gentle looking woman with salt and pepper hair.  Who'd have suspected HER??

I can only aspire to be as good as that group at lying some day!

Today was another Irish language lesson day! Now I know why I couldn't understand half of what the bartenders were saying in Ireland last year! ;-)  I'm getting the hang of it - now if I could just get the brogue down.....
